About Me

I was born and raised in Virginia in a family of six children with extensive roots in the medical field. In many ways, it would have been unusual for someone in my family to not pursue medicine as a career! I always enjoyed the sciences in middle school and by the age of 12, I knew I wanted to be a physician. My father still practices gynecology and my mother is a college English professor. In both word and deed, they have always emphasized a strong work ethic and the value of education, and I credit them for my academic achievements and the person I have become.

About my practice

I have practiced pediatric medicine since completing my residency at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles in 1999. I primarily practice at Panola Medical Center and Stonecrest Medical Center. I enjoy and have a great deal of respect for my colleagues in my office as well as the pediatricians throughout Kaiser Permanente. In addition to patient care, I have administrative duties as the managing physician for Panola and Stonecrest. I am a member of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee and a member of the Kaiser Permanente weight management initiative.

How I thrive

I truly believe that exercise is critical to both physical and mental health. I enjoy tennis and watching all college sports. I have an increasing interest in cooking. I enjoy the process of cooking and feel healthier as a result of eating self-prepared food.
