About Me

Welcome to my Web page! I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.

Biography

I’ve wanted to be a physician for as long as I can remember—I've always loved math and science! I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, then got my undergraduate degree in biochemistry at UC Santa Barbara. I wanted to experience living in another part of the United States, so I went to medical school in Houston—that actually made me want to come back to California. I did my internal medicine residency at the UCLA-San Fernando Valley Program and have been a valley girl ever since! I practiced primary care internal medicine for more than ten years. I really loved getting to know my members and helping them through health challenges. However, as my children were growing up, I needed more schedule flexibility, so I moved over to the Continuing Care Department. I started off doing home hospice and palliative care visits, and taking care of nursing home and rehabilitation members. For the past few years, I’ve been doing consultations in the hospital for members with advanced diseases and conditions, focusing on goals of care, treatment preferences, and end-of-life issues. The work I do is very interesting and challenging.

About my practice

Because I deal with such heavy life issues, it’s important to keep my balance and perspective. My co-workers and I are very supportive of each other, with lots of collaboration and humor to help ease the stress.

How I thrive

I enjoy spending quality time with my family, watching sports, walking on the treadmill, and traveling to new places.
