I was born and raised in Honolulu and grew up in Aina Haina. I am the middle of seven children, and now have four children of my own.
I was attracted to pursuing a career in medicine by my pediatrician who supported me when I was injured as a child. During medical school I was fortunate to have great mentors in ophthalmology. I enjoy helping people restore or maintain their vision, as we live in a visual world! I have a special interest in medical retina and refractive surgery, including LASIK. At the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, I enjoy having the ability to focus on our members and look at how I can best help them. My care philosophy is to treat my patients as I would want my family treated. I encourage them to be proactive and involved in their care so that we can work out the best choices together.
I exercise regularly. I have many projects to catch up on at home, including remodeling and landscaping, and enjoy spending my personal time with family and friends.
