About Me

I was born in San Francisco, California. I always knew that I wanted to become a doctor. In high school, I worked in an electron microscope laboratory for a neurologist studying amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. I graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a major in Neurobiology. After undergraduate school I attended graduate school and received a masters degree at San Francisco State University in Cell and Molecular biology. It was there that I chose to go to medical school at the Universidad Autonomia de Guadalajara in Mexico. This was an excellent and very exciting education. I did my residency in neurology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and a fellowship in neuromuscular disease at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.

About my practice

I am one of ten neurologists in the department of neurology at Kaiser Permanente. We are committed to providing excellent, compassionate and comprehensive care for our members. We are focused on working with you to maximize your health. Our staff works together to ensure that each aspect of your visit is as pleasant and productive as possible. Philosophically, my practice is oriented toward educating patients and to partner with them so that they can make decisions about their health.

How I thrive

I am fortunate to live on a small farm. My family often calls me Dr. Doolittle because I seem to collect neglected or orphaned farm animals. We grow our own organic vegetables and can them at the end of the season. I also have a passion for doing fused glass projects in a studio that my sister and I share (she is a painter).
