About Me

I'd like to welcome you to my Web page. I'm Dr. Daniel Harker. I was born near the Rocky Mountains in Canada and enjoyed the northern lights and winter sports growing up. I speak both Spanish and English. I learned Spanish in Guatemala on a 2-year humanitarian trip. I enjoy giving eye exams in both languages.

I attended the University of Alberta, where I received my bachelor degree in computer science. After a year as a software developer, I realized it wasn't for me and that I needed to go back to school and dedicate my life to health care. I enrolled in the Marshall B. Ketchum University for graduate school in Orange County and loved my experience there. During my rotations, I worked at the Veteran's Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, and the Navy Base in Yokosuka, Japan. After graduating, I worked with an ophthalmology practice in Kauai, Hawaii, focusing on specialty fit contact lenses.

About my practice

With my strong background in computer science, I make new technology a priority in my eye exams. I constantly strive to keep updated in this fast-changing field to provide high-quality eye care.

How I thrive

I think the best way to live well is to help others and to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Once a month, I'm involved in a program that passes out food in Skid Row here in Los Angeles. I also make sure to get to the ocean once a week. I look forward to meeting your eye care needs.
