I'd like to offer you a very warm welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I feel blessed to be working among my wonderful colleagues and our members at Kaiser Permanente, and I look forward to working with you as well.
I am originally from the northeast, and moved from Syracuse, NY to Los Angeles for my fellowship in medical retina. I fell in love with Southern California that year, and made San Diego my home with my husband and daughter.
I am a medical retina specialist, which means that in addition to having completed a three-year residency in ophthalmology, I also spent an additional year in fellowship at University of Southern California learning to take care of conditions that affect the retina, such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Ophthalmology, and medical retina in particular, has been a perfect fit for me. I feel so honored to help my patients improve the quality of their lives through improved vision. My goal as your physician is to empower you by helping you become the healthiest you can be and by providing the care, education, and resources you need.
Outdoor sports have been a long-term passion of mine. I ran my first marathon with my sister when I was in medical school as a way for us to challenge and motivate each other, and running lead to my current hobby of cycling. I continue to cycle and pound the pavement on a regular basis, which as been helpful at giving me energy to keep up by my young daughter and husband.
