About Me

Growing up in China and moving to Denver as a child has been the most influential event in my life. My parents gave up everything to move here, including their careers – especially my father, who was an orthopedic surgeon. As an immigrant, I learned the importance of hard work from an early age, often waking up before school to help deliver newspapers. I never took the opportunities I had for granted. My education took me from Cherry Creek High School to CU Boulder. Then I moved to the East Coast to attend Drexel University for my medical training, residing in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After my residency back here in Colorado, I completed 3 additional fellowships in hand surgery (Indianapolis, Indiana), pediatric hand surgery (Dallas, Texas), and pediatric orthopedics (Auckland, New Zealand).

From the warm, authentic people to the natural beauty of this state and all the outdoor adventures, I am grateful to live and work in Colorado. It has been quite a journey to get here, and I couldn’t have done it without my best friend, my wife, our adventurous son, and all of my teachers and mentors along the way. I am extremely grateful to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente team and look forward to serving as a part of your care team.

About my practice

My philosophy is to treat every patient just as I would treat my own family, with empathy, compassion, and honesty. During residency, I enjoyed delving into the complexity of the upper extremity. However, at the same time, I also enjoyed working with children. This drove me to seek fellowship training in hand surgery, pediatric hand surgery, and pediatric orthopedics. This training provided me with the opportunity to take care of a large range of orthopedic problems for patients of all ages, from congenital anomalies of newborns to degenerative arthritis of the hand and upper extremity. One of my favorite aspects of patient care is the team approach of working together with my patient and their family.

How I thrive

Every year, I am honored to participate as a guest lecturer in the medical careers class at Cherry Creek High School to inspire high school students to consider a career in medicine. During my time off, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. In addition, I enjoy golfing, snowboarding, road biking, mountain biking, and training for endurance races.
