About Me

I am glad to have the opportunity to present to you not just my credentials as a physician but also to share a little bit of who I am as a person. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.

Biography

When I broke my arm in the third grade, my fascination with the body’s ability to heal itself set me on a path to becoming a physician. Following medical school, I chose a combined residency in both internal medicine and psychiatry because while in medical school, it quickly became apparent that the two specialties—although different—were interconnected more than I had previously thought.

About my practice

I enjoy the team approach to health care here at Kaiser Permanente. In psychiatry, this allows for providing high-quality care for our patients. I spend my days working closely with my nurse and the therapists to ensure that our patients are getting the support and attention needed.

How I thrive

I believe that having a well-rounded life is the basis to being able to thrive. In addition to keeping up my medical knowledge for my practice, I challenge myself intellectually with trying to learn new things. I spend a good part of my downtime trying to learn foreign languages. Also, I try to remain physically fit. San Diego has made it possible to enjoy outdoor activities year round. I enjoy swimming competitively as well as surfing. I have been hiking more recently in order to learn more about what beauty San Diego has to offer.
