About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share some information about me. It is important that you feel comfortable with your neurologist, and I hope this page will help.

I am the first of my family to be born in the United States. My parents moved from Eastern Europe to Canada, and then to California where I was born. I am dedicated to the art of medicine and the practice of neurology. My work at Kaiser Permanente has allowed me time for research, to author chapters in textbooks on neurology, to participate on our Institutional Review Board (IRB), and to be active in bioethics. Currently, I am the Director of our Kaiser Permanente Southern California Bioethics Program. These experiences help to round out my life as a physician. My hobbies include playing musical instruments, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors.

About my practice

In our neurology office, we consider it a privilege to be asked to assist. We want your experience with us to be one that is healing and helpful.

How I thrive

I exercise several times a week. I do this not to live longer but with the hope that I can enjoy my future life in the same ways that are fun for me now. I am active in the community, donating my time to help to develop programs in ethics at local hospitals that are not operated by Kaiser Permanente. I donate time to teach residents and to take care of patients at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. I have an academic appointment as Clinical Professor of Neurology at UCLA.
