About Me

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I received my master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. During my training in clinical psychology, I often found myself taking care of patients with complex medical problems. I was interested in the mental and physical well-being of my patients and felt that a profession in medicine would complement my existing training in psychology.

About my practice

Gastroenterology requires a blend of manual skills that involve endoscopic procedures and cognitive skills that involve the care of patients with complex cases involving liver and inflammatory bowel disease. I enjoy working in the endoscopy lab and seeing clinic patients, so gastroenterology is a perfect specialty for me. At the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, we have a network of outstanding primary care physicians and specialists who provide quality care to our patients in an integrated health care system. My philosophy of care is to develop a collaborative relationship with my patients based on compassion and good communication. I connect with my patients through active listening during my clinic visits and telephone calls. I also make myself available to them if they ever have questions or concerns.

How I thrive

I enjoy travel, exercising regularly, and spending as much time as possible with my family.
