About Me

I am a native of Veracruz, Mexico. I obtained my master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University, with a specialization in children and families. I lived in Arizona until I moved to Oregon in 2013. My pronouns are she/her/hers.

About my practice

I value and embrace comprehensive approaches to care. My philosophy of practice is one of transparency and equality. I align with person-in-environment theory – a perspective rooted in the client at the center, where our functioning depends of the environment, and our mental and physical health. I believe in a desire for growth, personal meaning, and resiliency.

  • Culturally specific care: specialty care for immigrants; understanding acculturalization and conflicts between generations and subcultures, as well as other dynamics within the family system; affirming care for LGBTQ
  • Population specialties: child and adolescents and family work
  • Language capacity: English, Spanish; bicultural
  • Areas of focus: In addition to interventions for a range of mental health conditions including depression and anxiety, I have specific skills in adoption, parenting, ADHD, anxiety, depression, couples, and trauma (brief or complex).

How I thrive

I believe in the interdependence of mind, body, and spirit. I am active, both physically and mentally, and have close relationship with my two adult children and friends. I enjoy laughter, music, writing, reading, knitting, watching documentaries, and children's movies. And cooking and eating great food!
