About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I hope that the following information about my practice and myself will aid you in the process of feeling connected and welcome at Kaiser Permanente.

Biography

I was raised in the Pacific Northwest in the small town of Issaquah, Washington. After high school, it was off to Utah for undergraduate school, and then to Ecuador for two years of missionary work. During my time in Ecuador, I made the decision to pursue a career in medicine—a decision that was influenced in large part by my desire to help relieve suffering and bring a small bit of happiness to those with whom I came into contact. Upon returning to the United States, I met the most incredible woman and, lucky me, she accepted my marriage proposal. We now have four children—three boys and one girl.

About my practice

My current medical practice is hospital-based. I feel very strongly that medicine is best delivered in an environment of open communication. It’s my hope that anytime you interact with me, you’ll walk away feeling well-informed, and that the decisions we’ve made together are in your best interest. What you can expect from me is to receive high-quality care in a respectful manner. Often, I will simply be a sounding board for your questions and concerns. Ultimately, though, you must be comfortable with all decisions that are made in regard to your health care, and it’s my job to help you reach those decisions.

How I thrive

My family is the joy of my life. The majority of my spare time is spent involved with their activities—whether it be coaching one of their sports teams, going on a hike with their Scout troop, volunteering in their church activities, or just helping with homework. When I do get time to myself, it’s usually spent cycling or dreaming of my next fly-fishing trip.
