About Me

Welcome!

Biography

I was born and raised in Peru, home of Machu Picchu and the legendary Incan empire. After completing medical school in Peru, my ex-classmate (and now new husband) and I moved to the United States for postgraduate specialty training. Initially, we had intended to return to Peru after our training, but political instability and terrorism impeded those plans. Instead, we decided to stay and raise our young family in the United States. We settled in San Diego after discovering that many of our old medical school colleagues had created an expatriate Peruvian medical community. My husband and I are now empty nesters three times over and have filled our newly rediscovered free time with regular exercising and healthy food.

About my practice

Our top priority at the pathology lab is the patient’s well-being. Even though as pathologists we may not have a personal relationship with patients, we provide a vital element to the health care Kaiser Permanente offers its members. As a pathologist, I strive to meet the high standards that Kaiser Permanente sets to ensure that our members receive the medical attention they need. Our 11-member pathology team consists of a diverse array of doctors, technicians, and transcriptionists. I believe that our different backgrounds and years of experience make us stronger. We try to learn from each other and strive to support the team as a whole.

How I thrive

I enjoy long walks on the beach, piña coladas, and getting caught in the rain! Well, no. Not really. That’s how the old song goes, but I thrive among friends and family, good food, and exciting travel. Daily exercise keeps me energized and guilty pleasures, like Belgium chocolate, wind me down.
