About Me

Welcome! I hope this site provides you with information about my training, interests, and gynecologic oncology practice. I am happy to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente team, and I look forward to being a partner with you in your health care.

I was born and raised in Michigan. I was fortunate to start my education at the University of Michigan and complete my residency at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. After my residency, I practiced in an academic setting and in private practice, where I performed advanced laparoscopy. I returned to Detroit, Michigan, to complete a fellowship in gynecologic oncology, focusing my research on early detection of ovarian cancer. These diverse experiences led me to join Kaiser Permanente.

About my practice

My practice in gynecologic oncology focuses on the comprehensive treatment of female reproductive tract cancers, such as ovarian, uterine, vulvar, vaginal, and cervical cancer. I specialize in surgery and administering chemotherapy for these cancers. My colleagues and I actively participate in national and industry-sponsored clinical trials and continue to present research at national meetings and publish in peer-reviewed journals. I incorporate a minimally invasive approach to surgery whenever possible and have been using the da Vinci robotic system since 2006. At times, I am involved in complex noncancerous gynecologic surgeries. I am honored that my patients have entrusted me with their care, and my goal is to treat them as I would my own family.

How I thrive

I strive to keep balance in my life and foster both professional and personal relationships in my community. I am an avid sports fan. I exercise regularly, enjoy reading, and love to learn. I find that most of my activities outside the hospital revolve around my wife and two children. It is this time with family and friends that I believe provides me with inspiration, motivation, and the ability to thrive.
