About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I am a pulmonary and critical care physician. A pulmonologist is a specialist focused on the health of your lungs. I also work as a hospitalist, which means that I become your attending physician when you are in the hospital.

Biography

I was born in a small town in India, and graduated from Patna Medical College, one of India’s premier medical schools. I have been in Southern California since 1985. My wife is an electrical engineer who attended school in Wichita, Kansas. We have two teenage sons.

About my practice

I am one of several physicians in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Department. We have a very efficient, caring support staff in our offices. You will find this team very helpful from the time you call for an appointment. We have technologically advanced equipment in our pulmonary function lab and bronchoscopy suite.

How I thrive

I stay active both physically and mentally. I start my day with 15 minutes of exercise. This includes a daily practice of an ancient yoga called Surya Namaskar which translates: Sun Salutation. This yoga combines ten different positions, effectively stretching every muscle in the body. Almost every other day, as soon as I get home from work, I jog for about 15 minutes. Catching up with the news on National Public Radio while commuting to and from work makes the drive relaxing and pleasant. I love classical music, both Indian and Western. I am active with Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, one of the largest volunteer organizations in the world.
