I am a former Wisconsinite growing up in the small town of Hudson and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I earned my medical degree at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri. The Army provided me with an excellent internship in El Paso and outstanding Family Medicine Residency at Ft Belvoir, VA where I was the 1st Chief Resident. I was fortunate to work with our soldiers and their families as their Doctor in Germany for 3 years both as a Brigade Surgeon and as a Clinic Company Commander. While stationed at Ft Ord, CA I taught Family Medicine residents, developed the Residency's Sports Medicine Program and earned the Bronze Star in Desert Storm. I continued with the Colorado Army National Guard and later the Army Reserve until I retired as a Colonel in 2007. I am Board Certified in Family Medicine and a Fellow of The American Academy of Family Physicians. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente I was in a small private group practice in Westminster and Littleton. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1999 because I felt then and continue to know today that we provide the best medical care in Colorado and rated in the top few medical groups in the US.
My practice philosophy is to first listen to my patients so that I may better understand their needs. I enjoy looking at the whole picture for my patient's overall wellness. This whole picture includes their diet, supplements, exercise, family, and their work. Another area of my focus is the teen and middle age athletes who do sports for competition and most importantly have Fun. My patients are of all ages from birth until the end of life. I promise to do my very best for my patients, we are a team.
My family thrives though community service, exercise, outdoor activities, intellectual curiosity and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
