Acerca de mí
I was born on Oahu and raised in the beautiful town of Kailua. It is a privilege for me to now practice in the same community where I grew up. I feel lucky that I can continue to enjoy and share the beauty of our islands with my family.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I sought medicine as a career because I had a strong desire to serve my community and also build relationships with those around me. Family medicine provides me with the ability to treat both adults and children, and get to know them within their families. Having grown up in a close community like Kailua, where we knew our doctors on a personal basis, I knew that this is where I wanted to practice medicine. In school I also had an interest in technology, specifically information systems. I am fortunate to be able to combine my undergraduate degree in information systems with medicine through my work as the medical director for our electronic medical records systems. As part of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, I appreciate having such a large network of providers from all specialties working collaboratively and efficiently to deliver great patient care. I have access to, and can call upon, any number of specialists to help me provide the highest quality of care I can to my own patients. In my practice, it is important to me to get to know people as individuals and meet their needs effectively. By understanding the history and lifestyle of each of my patients, I can also tailor my care to help us achieve the most favorable outcomes possible. Because my care philosophy is relationship-based, I work with my patients on achieving their optimal health over time – it is a true partnership.
Cómo vivo bien
I stay healthy physically by running and weightlifting for a combination of cardio and strengthening work. I keep my mental balance through music (I play the viola and piano) and through reading and traveling. I enjoy the time I spend with my family. I am fortunate to be able to travel with them as well as with musical colleagues throughout the state, performing for the community.
