I was born and raised in Michigan. My mother and father are both physicians. I grew up with medicine and it was all I knew. My parents always loved caring for people, and they passed this important value on to me. During my medical training I did a residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. In 2010 I came to Hawaii to do a one-month rotation in the Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Emergency Department. I fell in love with Oahu at that time, and when a position became available at the St. Francis Medical Center, I moved here permanently. Subsequently, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work at Kaiser Permanente.
My parents were the primary influence on my decision to become a physician. While I was interested in all areas of medicine, I was particularly drawn to the field of emergency medicine. This specialty allows me to be involved as a first line responder in a wide range of situations, and I find this challenging and rewarding. Some of the things I enjoy most about working with the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group are the availability of skilled specialists and the excellent work environment that exists here.My philosophy of care is to strive to provide the best and most compassionate care to all of my patients. I try to treat each patient as I would want to be treated and as I would want my own family members to be treated. I especially enjoy sitting with patients and talking story with them.
I spend a lot of time on the beach. I also enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, racquetball, and spending time with friends.
