I was born in Bombay, India, but I moved to the U.S. when I was eight. I grew up in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful place to live, and I enjoyed seeing all four seasons! I moved to Atlanta in 1989, when I started attending Emory University for my undergraduate degree. I liked Atlanta so much that I decided to stay here and complete medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine and my residency in emergency medicine at Emory University.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I find all parts of medicine interesting, and I like the adrenaline rush of working in an emergency medicine department. When I chose emergency medicine as my specialty, it was one of the only fields that allowed me to see patients who would not get health care otherwise. I enjoyed being able to give back and help those in need at the most critical point in their lives. I like to function in acute emergent situations, and I enjoy all aspects of medicine. Emergency medicine affords me that variety of work.

When I am not at work, my favorite activity is riding bikes on the Atlanta Beltline with my family. And on sunny days, we like to stop by King of Pops to get a delicious popsicle! Hanging out in our neighborhood is always a fun experience, and we love getting to know those that live around us. Building a community of friends is important to me, and I have found that it is the little things in life that matter.
