Acerca de mí
Ever since I was a young child, I was attracted to medicine. In my high school years, this affinity continued to grow as I spent many summer months volunteering at a local hospital and shadowing a multitude of physicians. I then went to Auburn University for my undergraduate studies and majored in microbiology. Afterwards, I went to University of Alabama - Birmingham (UAB) for medical school. During that time, I was exposed to the great field of urology. During my first year of medical school, I became fascinated with the genitourinary tract and the various pathologies associated with it. I went on to pursue additional urologic research studies outside of my general medical curriculum, which helped me strengthen my knowledge base and gave me additional exposure to the field. I then went on to do my urology residency with Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. Ultimately, my home was in the South, and I wanted to settle down close to my family, all of whom are in Alabama and Tennessee. I knew that Kaiser Permanente existed in Georgia, and that is where I found my dream job that I have now. I look forward to providing our members with excellent care and will continue to hold myself to the highest standards as I work towards this goal.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My practice consists of treating a multitude of urologic pathologies, both medically and surgically. Some of the pathologies that I treat include the following: kidney stones, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, overactive bladder, erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence. I am trained in the latest technologies such as robotic-assisted surgery with the DaVinci Surgical System. From the simple office vasectomy to the more complicated oncologic cases that take place in the operating room, I love all aspects of my profession. Sometimes, small preventive lifestyle modifications that do not even require medications may alleviate a patient's illness. This brings me an equal sense of satisfaction. I feel truly honored and blessed to be working in such a rewarding field.
Cómo vivo bien
I thrive by eating healthy and exercising often. In my diet, I try to limit sugar and other refined carbohydrates to a bare minimum. I follow a strict workout regimen, which consists of both weightlifting and aerobic exercises at least six days of week. I also exercise a good sense of mental health by reading often for leisure.
