Acerca de mí
I was born in Ethiopia and lived in China for four years before moving to Seattle in 1987 to finish middle school. In Seattle, I developed my appreciation for the outdoors and love of outdoor activities. I inherited my interest and desire to practice medicine from my father, one of the first national physicians in Ethiopia. This interest was confirmed through my volunteer work at a clinic for the underserved during my high school years. I moved to Atlanta for residency training and made the decision to stay in the area after falling for the city and all that it has to offer.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
From my father I adopted the following philosophy that guides me, especially in my professional life: "Do your best to ensure that every person whose life intersects with yours, is improved as a result of it."
Kaiser Permanente aligns with my philosophy as it is committed to providing the best of care for our patients during transitions between levels of care. I am one of the Kaiser Permanente physicians rounding at skilled nursing facilities (SNF) to facilitate transition from hospital to sub-acute rehab and again when patients transfer out of SNF. I also preform palliative care consults at the hospital to assist members in understanding their disease process and help them make decisions about their care based on their personal goals and desires.
Cómo vivo bien
I depend on spinning, running and yoga to jumpstart my days. Throughout the workday, I continue to draw energy and contentment from my rewarding encounters with our Kaiser Permanente members. After work, I look forward to long walks with my chocolate Labrador. I enjoying hanging out with my friends, taking advantage of the great culinary scene in Atlanta and planning my next international trip.
