I have always wanted to be a doctor, even as a child. My father was a firefighter and my aunt a nurse, and this probably influenced my career decision. I also knew that I wanted to work with children and adults. I trained in psychiatry and specialized in child and adolescent psychiatry. I did a research fellowship and have been in clinical practice since 1990, in conjunction with research and teaching. Much of my career has been in academic medicine with Duke Medical Center, University of South Carolina, East Tennessee State University and Emory University. I was a psychiatry residency training director for approximately 10 years.I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2009 and truly appreciate the high-quality care Kaiser Permanente provides.

Cómo vivo bien
I enjoy spending time with my family and pets. I am blessed with two sons and a husband, and we have many pets. My family and I love to go to the movies.I love doing crafts, sewing and scrapbooking. I also enjoy all kinds of music. In addition to their other talents, both of our sons are musicians, so the house is full of music!
