Aloha! I am a Navy Brat, so I have had the pleasure of living in multiple states and countries. From that early exposure, I developed a love of traveling and learning about different cultures. That is why Atlanta is a perfect city for me - I get to interact with people from all over the world every day. As a pediatrician, I think this helps me to keep an open outlook on my patients' experiences and families to develop great relationships. I chose to practice pediatrics because I love getting to know our members and their families, and I like helping families navigate their health and the health care system. I also like to stay active in the community by volunteering with organizations like March of Dimes and Girls on the Run.
I am a member of our Kaiser Permanente Pediatrics Department and I also have the privilege of working with families once a month at the DeKalb County Refugee Center. I enjoy taking care of children from birth through adolescence. I have a special interest in sports medicine, early childhood literacy/education, asthma/allergy care and obesity prevention/management. I consider myself an advocate for children and have done some work on the Legislative Committee of the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. As your child's pediatrician, I want to work with you to keep your child healthy and to spot any concerns well before they become serious. I encourage you and your child to ask me lots of questions! I have been told that I am an optimist and I take this as a compliment! I think that there is almost always an opportunity to find good in one's life. I am most happy when I get to feel the sun on my skin. I started running outside about three years ago, and it has really helped me stay healthy, both physically and mentally. As far as hobbies, I love traveling, reading, trying new restaurants, listening to good music and dancing (poorly).
