Acerca de mí
I have wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember. A native of Atlanta, I left Georgia for college, but soon returned to complete medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. Following medical school, I ventured to the Midwest, completing my residency and fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. While there, I met my husband, who was studying computer engineering. Following the completion of my training, I began my career in academic medicine at the University of Wisconsin. While I enjoyed teaching residents and fellows, my true love was providing care to my patients. When my husband decided to pursue graduate school (and we were expecting our first child), I convinced him to move to Atlanta so we could be closer to my family. Since joining Kaiser Permanente, I have been able to develop relationships with our members and provide the care they need, which brings me great satisfaction. We are currently living in Dunwoody and enjoying being close to our family.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
As a psychiatrist specializing in treating children and adolescents, I work to help families be their best, both as family units and individual members. I also enjoy seeing adults. I diagnose and treat illnesses including ADHD, autism, depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety. While I can prescribe medications that can be quite helpful at relieving symptoms, I believe it is important to address the psychological, social and biological factors which impact illnesses and are paramount to getting better. I enjoy building relationships with our members and their families, and I thrive on watching my patients get better and reach their goals.
Cómo vivo bien
As a new mother, my free time is limited. In addition to playing with my son, I enjoy hiking with my husband, swimming, reading and quilting. Now that I am back in Atlanta, I really enjoy getting together with old friends and family!
