Acerca de mí
I grew up in Needham, Mass., just outside of Boston, with four sisters. While in high school, I started thinking about becoming a doctor when one of my sisters was hospitalized with acute abdominal pain. Her illness turned out to be a diagnostic dilemma for her physicians. While a biology major at Holy Cross College, it became clear to me that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine. It was during my internal medicine training that I decided to apply for a gastroenterology (GI) fellowship as I found it to be the most interesting subspecialty. I have thoroughly enjoyed it ever since!
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I joined the Kaiser Permanente Gastroenterology Department in 2005 after being in a private, multispecialty group practice for 12 years in North Carolina. My daily practice includes performing procedures such as colonoscopy, endoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), as well as diagnosing and treating GI conditions such as reflux, ulcers, irritable bowel, Crohn’s disease, colitis, polyps, colon cancer and liver/pancreas disease. I also enjoy our GI department journal club for up-to-date review and discussion of key clinical GI studies.
