Acerca de mí
I am a native of Atlanta who has witnessed the phenomenal growth of the city first hand. My initial desire to become a physician began when I was in elementary school. However, I became committed to becoming a physician in high school. My hero in medicine at the time was my pediatrician who made house calls. This allowed me to see the dedication required in becoming a physician. After college, I was accepted to Emory University School of Medicine. My interest in Emory was stimulated by my desire to train at Grady Hospital. I was aware of the superior training that Grady provided medical students and residents. I entered medical school wanting to be a surgeon and pursued that greatly sought after surgical residency position with much determination. Fortunately, I was asked to stay at Emory for my surgical training. I have enjoyed practicing surgery since finishing my residency training.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I practice general surgery, which incorporates surgery of the gastrointestinal tract and breast surgery. General surgeons also repair hernias and remove lumps. I enjoy working for Kaiser Permanente because it affords me the opportunity to focus on the member rather than the administrative details of running a medical practice. I take care of patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, and my interaction with these patients has helped me to see the need to incorporate a holistic approach into my practice. I am convinced that our physical health is greatly influenced by our mental and spiritual health.
