Acerca de mí
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania called Latrobe. Many people have heard of this town because this is where Arnold Palmer is from. As far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a nurse. I wanted to help people and make them feel better. My wish came true because I have been a nurse for 30 years, with 20 of those years as a nurse practitioner with Kaiser Permanente. My husband and I have two college-age children. Our daughter will be starting graduate school at Boston University soon and our son attends the University of Georgia. My husband and I enjoy attending UGA football games in the fall.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
At TownPark Medical Center, I work with a wonderful team consisting of pediatricians, a physician assistant, nursing staff and a receptionist. As a team, we provide high-quality patient care and educate our parents and children to make healthy decisions and direct them to make safe decisions. In pediatrics, I feel education is so important to keep our children safe. I preach safety daily in my practice. If I have made one child wear a helmet or use a seatbelt, then my day is complete. I really enjoy working with teenagers. They teach me new things everyday. It is so rewarding to watch them grow into young adults.
Cómo vivo bien
I thrive by keeping a balance in my life between work, family and exercise. I practice what I preach and I take my health very seriously. If one does not have his or her health, the balance is broken. I love to ski, and I keep very active by playing tennis and running. If I do not get my daily exercise, I do not feel well. I love the game of tennis. It is such a wonderful sport because it is great exercise, a social sport and a great mental game. If I am not at work or doing family activities, then you can find me on the tennis court.
