I grew up in a small, college town in Louisiana. Around the age of five, I decided that I wanted to be a physician. My father was ill my entire life, and we spent my childhood in and out of hospitals. He had a special physician that I still admire to this day. I always assumed that he was a primary care physician, but realized later that he was actually a surgeon. He had a wonderful bedside manner and cared deeply for his patients. He was, and still is, a large inspiration in my practice today. My husband is also a physician, and we have two sons. We enjoy living in the Atlanta area!
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I love emergency medicine. It offers such a variety, and from minute-to-minute, you do not know what you will see next. I was drawn to join Kaiser Permanente because of their commitment to total patient care. All of the physicians in our group are partners with one goal in mind: To do the very best we can to treat our members. I hold a leadership role on our team, and I am involved in many of the decisions we make regarding patient care and safety, as well as physician care and safety.
Cómo vivo bien
I enjoy spending time with my husband and sons. We travel and learn whenever we can. In addition, I love to exercise and participate in 5K, 10K and obstacle course races. Once a year, I travel to Haiti and supervise medical students on a mission trip.
