Acerca de mí
Born and raised in Paris, France, I grew up in a multi-cultural environment with a Berber-Kabyle father and an Irish-American mother. I spent the majority of my early life traveling back and forth between Europe and the United States. Predominantly educated in the French academic system, I spent my undergraduate years at La Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris, and University College Cork, Ireland, where I studied literature and social sciences. Following graduation I worked in Paris as an English teacher for 3 years before pursuing a medical career.Knowing my true calling had always been medicine, I began my medical journey at the University of Pennsylvania where I completed my Post-Baccalaureate Premedical program. During that time, I discovered osteopathy and decided to attend the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following which, I chose to complete my residency in Family Medicine at Largo Medical Center, Florida.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
As a family physician, my scope of practice encompasses the full spectrum of life: from birth through The Golden Years. My medical training as an osteopathic physician was heavily based on a holistic approach, taking into consideration the intricate connection between the mind, body, and soul of the human being. I prefer taking an interactive approach by engaging my patients in the medical decision making process. Encouraging patients to actively participate in their care, I ask what their goals are and what it is they would like to do, or not do. It is together in collaboration with your perspective and my medical knowledge and experience that we will both take part in the overall responsibility of your health. I will always choose what I believe is the safest practice while also considering what is in the best interest of each individual patient. I am a firm believer that there is always something to learn from each and every patient encounter. I would be most honored to assist you in your journey towards healing and well-being.
Como vivo bien
I strive for balance in a multitude of ways and take the proverb “Physician, heal thyself” as both a challenge and a motto to live by. I thrive by being creative through my artwork, dance, music, and interior design. I stay active with Zumba, cardio kickboxing, cycling, and hiking. Spending precious family time with my husband and son is of utmost importance to me and I cherish my amazing parents and sister who live in Europe and Africa. I have an interest in medical mission work both abroad and within our own communities.
