Acerca de mí
I grew up in Upstate New York and then went to college in Florida to pursue a career in aviation. I graduated in 1991 when many airlines were going bankrupt, and no jobs were available. I decided to pursue a new found passion for the mountains and skiing. This brought me to Colorado - where my family had been on skiing vacation’s the last few years leading up to this time. I proceeded to work at Keystone resort, skiing 5-7 days a week, and taking classes in First Responder and Emergency Medicine in order to get a job on the Ski Patrol. After five years of skiing full time and working outdoors year round, as much as I loved it, I felt that it was time to pursue a long term career plan - and Medicine was my interest. I quickly learned of the Physician Assistant profession and it sounded like the perfect fit for me. I returned to upstate New York for PA School at Rochester Institute of Technology. I really enjoyed PA school in New York, but upon graduating felt a strong pull back to Colorado. Fortunately I was able to begin my career in Colorado with Kaiser Permanente in the Orthopedics department and it has been a great fit – as I remain there today – some 12 years later and counting.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
In my practice I see patients both in the clinic as well as in the hospital. I see patients with new fractures, do "reductions", see recheck fracture appointments, as well as new patients with Osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal complaints or injuries. My goal is not only to help my patients alleviate the pain of their problem and get them back to their activities, but to educate them as much as possible about the condition so that they may understand and be invested in the treatment plan and goals. I have a special interest in exercise and sports medicine. I believe in a multimodal approach using cross-training and/or change in activities, physical therapy, and non-surgical treatment whenever possible. In those patients that do require surgery, I try to educate people in an attempt to be as honest, upfront, and straightforward as possible regarding what to expect during and after surgery.

I thrive by working to stay active and exercising on a regular basis, all while maintaining a healthy work, family, and exercise balance. I motivate myself by setting challenging personal goals. I am proud to say that I have recently completed two Half Ironman Triathlons as well as my first Marathon! I was able to meet my goals of not only completing them, but of meeting reasonably aggressive personal finishing times as well. I continue to train, all while enjoying spending time with my wife and raising our two young boys as they grow and become more and more active themselves. In addition to Triathlon, I love skiing, biking and hiking in the Mountains. As a family we really enjoy traveling, spending time with extended family, and trying to be good role models for our sons.
