Kaiser Permanente provider
Idioma que hablo:
Sí, en mi consultorio se aceptan pacientes nuevos. Es posible que sea necesaria una remisión.
I grew up in Aurora, Colo. and graduated from Gateway High School. While in high school, I decided I wanted to become a nurse. I fulfilled this dream by attending Brigham Young University and graduating with my Bachelors of Science in nursing. Before my graduation, I had already decided I wanted to become a nurse practitioner. Prior to pursuing my advanced degree, I gained clinical experience by working on an Infectious Disease/Oncology unit. I then returned to Colorado where I began working in the emergency department at the Medical Center of Aurora. I continued working there while attending the University of Colorado Denver where I received my Masters of Science as a family nurse practitioner. It was during one of my clinical rotations for my degree that I determined I wanted to work for Kaiser Permanente due to their focus on prevention and optimal care of their members.
I really enjoy getting to know each of my patients and learning about their lives. Coming from a nursing background, I am very focused on all aspects of patients, not just the illness that brings them to the clinic. All parts of a patient's life contribute to their illness and also their treatment and recovery. I believe my patient and I should come together as a team to battle against the illness or disease he or she is experiencing. I am able to contribute medical knowledge and experience but the patient's personal knowledge and experience is vital in all care decision making. I also focus much of my practice on prevention so my patients can optimize their health and wellness for an ultimately fulfilling life.
My favorite form of exercise is walking as it can be done anytime anywhere. Getting up and moving helps to clear my mind and lift my spirit. I enjoy traveling to different parts of the country and learning about the history and people who live in the area. I also enjoy attending cultural and artistic events whether it is a high school play, a local orchestra or band, an event at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, or an exhibit at a museum. Ultimately, I thrive the most through daily prayer and scripture study and participation in my religion.
