I am really glad I've chosen pediatrics because children are always surprising me. I have two school-aged and adopted children, one venturing into adolescence. After starting pediatrics with the Indian Health Service in Oklahoma, my husband and I decided to return after nine years to my hometown of Denver to start our family. I received a diverse and interesting medical school experience at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and I'm board certified in pediatrics. My family enjoys sports, camping, and school activities. I enjoy documenting everything in photos and being with friends and family. My faith is intertwined in everything I do.
I have a strong interest in behavioral medicine and in helping each child reach his or her utmost potential. Whether it's monitoring a child's medical and developmental growth or helping parents over dips in the road, every child is valuable and special. Parents often ask a physician for information and guidance, and I like to support them in the most challenging job on this planet. I see myself as a partner in helping your family, helping a child through illness, preventing disability, and making the most of a child's potential (even if limited in some way). I enjoy teaching attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder classes, "Tar Wars" tobacco education, and other varied topics.
I enjoy time with my family and working part-time as a pediatrician. I trust my fellow physicians and caregivers to maintain excellent care of my patients while I'm with my family. I enjoy various sports, my family, and my faith and church to help me maintain my well-being in the various challenges of life. I enjoy classical music, time with friends, and good books and movies that make me laugh. I look for opportunities to help others in whatever small way I can. And my favorite activity for peace is a long walk in the woods.
