I have spent most of my childhood growing up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. My father, a retired general surgeon, passed on a love of medicine to the entire family. My mom bestowed an unconditional love on all her children. I am blessed with a son and daughter, both in medical school; I also have four brothers, all physicians. My electrical engineer husband gallantly tries to balance out our mix.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
When I started medical school at the University of South Dakota, I was intent on becoming a pediatrician. I loved the Pediatric Rotation and found kids fascinating. I soon discovered that I liked many other aspects of medicine as well. I chose Family Medicine and have been grateful ever since and love what I do. I incorporate preventative and acute care in my practice.
Como vivo bien
I strive to keep patients health and happy. I try to listen carefully to each and every patient, and offer options that will achieve their objectives.I love the word “thrive” and find it a wonderful correlation of mind, body and soul. When it comes to the mind, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and listening to almost all kinds of music or wind through the pine trees. As for the soul, my faith is paramount. I am grateful for the gift of grace, and I attend church with my family on a regular basis.Lastly, for a healthy body, I humbly admit that I am not perfect. But, I thoroughly enjoy hiking with my family, which includes our Golden Retriever, kayaking, skiing, and sending a golf ball on its errant path.
