Where I practice
My family moved to Denver in 1969 from Minneapolis. I have been primarily based in Denver, and have trained and traveled extensively outside the state. I am most proud of developing an enduring set of personal and professional relationships, including a sustained commitment to my parents, family and our rescue cat. I entered the field of medicine in order to be a part of an inspired, relevant, nurturing community. I've sustained a holistic viewpoint and balanced professional and personal approach. It was with these values that I was able to develop a Medical School Lunch wellness series. Once exposed to medical imaging (radiology), I was immediately drawn in and knew that it would be a continually evolving, ever more sophisticated and relevant modern medical specialty. It has been particularly fulfilling to help steer radiology practice optimization, including turnaround time, quality efforts, safety and value.
About my practice
I am at your disposal. My goals are to first and foremost ensure that you receive optimal personalized care. I wish to assist in guiding and ensuring safe, appropriate imaging. I spend the vast majority of my time at a medical imaging workstation reviewing and interpreting medical imaging examinations. When interpreting medical imaging examinations, I focus on answering the clinical question, assessing for unexpected findings and providing actionable follow-up options and guidance. I urge patients and colleagues to routinely ask questions, seek advice and provide feedback. During my third decade as a practicing radiologist, I maintain a foremost commitment to being a part of a healing community. As with all of life, being a medical imaging provider is a process of listening, learning, engaging and adapting. I've completed a cross sectional imaging fellowship and currently focus on body imaging with particular emphasis on oncology/GI/GU. I am the medical imaging lead of the MRI prostate cancer screening program.
How I thrive
I strive for personal, professional and mindful balance including an enduring commitment to health/ wellness and connections with diet/exercise/meditation and flexibility. When able my life partner and I jointly seek out-of-the-way places to visit throughout the west. A favorite pastime includes trekking by foot or bike to local markets in search of fresh, interesting salad options, combining diet and exercise. Making salads is my Zen. I limit online time and actively support the local arts.
